Swallows

Swallows are small, elegant, fast flying birds. They originally migrated to New Zealand from Australia and are considered a protected native species. Swallows are small, dainty birds. They can be easily identified by their forked tail, black eye strip and chattering voice.

They are found in open country, particularly around or near water. They are rarely found in areas of dense bush. Their main food is insects, but they will travel a long distance to get to food.

Swallows can be a pest as they build their nests from mud on ledges or other protruding surfaces, and usually in or around buildings, which causes a lot of mess and can also be a health hazard.

Ultrasonic sound works extremely well to deter swallows, and also spikes and bird proof paste.
